The Pajama Game to the stage this November for a strictly limited performances.

Winner of the 1955 Tony Award for Best Musical—and over fifty years later, the Tony Award for Best Revival—The Pajama Game is a timeless tale of love, labour, and laughter. With an fantastic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross the musical features beloved theatre standards including Hey There, Steam Heat, and Hernando’s Hideaway.

Set in the early 1950s, the story takes place at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, where tensions rise as workers campaign for a 7½ cent pay increase. Amid the unrest, sparks fly between the factory’s new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and Babe Williams, head of the union grievance committee—setting the stage for both a labour showdown and a romantic tug-of-war.

The original Australian production of The Pajama Game, was presented by J.C. Williamson and premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne in 1957. The production starred Toni Lamond as Babe Williams and William Newman as Sid Sorokin, alongside Keith Petersen as Hines, Jill Perryman as Mabel, Don Richards as Prez, and Tikki Taylor as Gladys.

The Pajama Game  will be directed and choreographed by Lisa Callingham, this spirited musical is packed with lively dance numbers and heartfelt performances.

Neglected Musicals will present the show with scripts in hand and piano accompaniment—after just one day of rehearsal.
